Review For Arizona Band

Charles Watson & Hollow Council set the bar for highlights.
Apache
Junction, Arizona, September 10, 2009 –
Charles Watson & Hollow Council,

Charles Watson & Hollow Council
Have a Stunning Announcement: It's a White Knuckle Ride
Summer
2009, Charles Watson & Hollow Council were approached by a major marketing
representative to submit a song for a product commercial focused on EXTREME
SPORTS ... unfortunately, this reviewer cannot disclose the details of this
great opportunity to the public at this time ... but as a result, there is
an amazing new song in existence called "White Knuckle Ride".//
Apache Junction, Arizona,
July 15, 2009 – One might not think that getting a
haircut could qualify as a life-changing event, but it was what prompted a
rocking, hard-driving tune out of Charles Watson when Josh Cummings came to
Watson and told him it was time for the maestro to do his magic asap due to a
serendipitous circumstance of sitting in a barber's chair next to a fellow
in Fortune 500 advertising. Watson
went to work right away. And magic is what
happened.//
"White Knuckle Ride" is
exactly that ... and believe me, I can make magic pretty good sometimes too,
'cause I just made a long story short.

Arizona Alternative Radio KWSS,
106.7 FM, Introduces Phoenix Airwaves to Charles Watson & Hollow Council
June 4th,
Charles Watson & Hollow Council is featured on KWSS Arizona Alternative Radio, 106.7 FM,
interviewed by DJ Beef, and had four cuts off their Time For Change
album aired and put in rotation for the first time on a domestic major market radio station:
"Empty Man", "Liquid Sin", Fracture Me", and the album title tune, "Time For
Change". Charles
Watson & Hollow
Council will be in KWSS studios again June 25th for another live interview
with Beef, D-Rock, and the gang.
Apache
Junction, Arizona, June 6, 2009 – Charles
Watson & Hollow
Council, has blown the lid off the domestic scene on major market radio with
not one, but four cuts off their album, Time For Change, including a
live studio interview with KWSS, Arizona Alternative Radio 106.7 FM.
Another interview with the band at KWSS studios in Scottsdale, AZ, is
scheduled for the D-Rock & Beef's Thursday night show June 25th.
Two songs off this
album charted Charles Watson & Hollow Council #1 for a record breaking official 45 weeks on AAA radio
last Fall, "Stop Wasting My Time" and "Stuffed Suits".
They now
have a grand total of six, I'll say that again, SIX tunes, that's 50% of this album,
with rotation airplay. KWSS introduced the domestic airwaves to Charles
Watson & Hollow Council
with "Empty Man"
(which was selected for two compilation CD
series, one for Radio RNR, billed as the finest HotSpot for Rock on Internet
radio, and 3000 Indy Records 360), "Fracture Me", "Liquid Sin", a top ranking myspace play favorite, and
an extreme instrumental with classical guitar and keyboard orchestration, "Time For Change",
title song for the album by Charles Watson, guitarist, vocalist,
prime mover and maestro of Hollow Council.
And there's more. Yet, as
has been the case since it's inception, Charles Watson & Hollow Council, continuously on the
move to more exposure and broader markets with every twist and turn in the
mix, says to stay tuned for some near-future announcements. All in good time,
guys. All in good time. We're listening.

Charles Watson & Hollow
Council Band Clinch 51 Weeks of AAA Radio Charting
“Stop Wasting My Time”
and “Empty Man”, two singles off the 2008 album titled Time For Change
by the alternative rock band Charles Watson & Hollow Council, have stayed on
AAA radio charts for a whopping “43 weeks” straight, announced their label
executive producer, Robert Metzgar on November 5, 2008. That was 8 weeks
ago but it isn’t old news. To date, Charles Watson & Hollow Council’s album
Time For Change has now been charted for 51 weeks, and still going strong.
This kind of run for a brand-spanking-new band with their first album
released August 28, 2008 is this Happy New Year’s Day record-breaking
news.
Apache Junction,
Arizona, January 1, 2009 – Charles E. Watson, a classical guitarist, is
doing something new in the business of music. He’s making the classical
guitar popular in arenas of rock genre listeners. This isn’t an easy crowd
to please. The music either rocks or it doesn’t, regardless of sub-genre
appeal; and there are as many interpretations of what that means as there
are rockers. Multiply that by 51 weeks charted on AAA radio airwaves and
you’ve got a lot of listeners across global spectrums liking what they
hear from Charles Watson and his band, Charles Watson & Hollow Council.
Two singles off the
2008 music album, Time For Change, on Platinum Plus Records, Nashville
(the Nashville label of Universal Records, Los Angeles, California, USA),
“Stop Wasting My Time” and “Empty Man” have continued to be charted for
airplay on AAA radio stations for 51 weeks straight, to date.
“You’ve never
heard classical guitar like this unless you’ve heard Charles Watson
shred,” is the consensus of a connoisseur of the Arizona live music scene
since 1983, both on and off the stage, M. E. Kibler, otherwise known as
Emmikai, owner of a private music recording studio known as ‘the stable of
the musician’s musician’ and author of the underground proliferated rag,
“The Musician’s Workbench” on fret board theory. The following response to
an interview with Kibler, who, notably, wrote the lyrics to “Stop Wasting
My Time”, has known Charles Watson for quite a long time:
“Just look at his
hands. They’re phenomenal. He’s been playing guitar since he was a kidling
and when he performs on the guitar, it’s a holistic body-mind dance of
natural immersion. Those neat 10,000 master hours were experientially
seasoned before he was 18. He’s a master performer and composer breaking
new ground, like the embodiment of Segovia’s spirit pushing audience
envelopes beyond and including being a harmonic theory purest to an
Amadeus eccentric who never ceased to finesse through genre and instrument
ceilings. He’s innovative and material-clever and admits to being mindful
of creating meaningful musical works that move body, mind, and soul. No
cheap tricks here, but he will wowse-you. He’s a flamboyant performer.
When he picks up a guitar, something incredible is about to happen.”
Watson’s main axe is a
Godin solid body electric classical nylon strung guitar with synth pickups
and a special edition of beautifully burled maple from the Canadian guitar
maker,
Robert Godin.
Watson executes
traditional finger style magic along with having a bag of techniques he
certifiably invented. This is not to say he doesn’t have an assortment of
unique electrics that he throws into the mix that are just as ‘wowsing’.
It’s a valid hyperbolae to state that audiences, whether from live shows,
recordings, or radio, experience something they’ve never heard before when
they hear Watson play guitar.
Charles Watson
Hollow Council have a sound that’s absolutely fresh and exciting. This is
genre specific rock music that does all that rock does and more. Tag it
alternative progressive rock or progressive alternative rock, the tag used
to describe this music and band is “Alternative rock with a classical hook
and a blues edge.”
Charles Watson calls
this collection of tunes: Rock Art Music, pun intended; it’s as organic as
grass roots and a 21st Century hybrid with an attitude and
signature sound.
This music has
everything, including sticky hooks and licks that stay in your head,
full-speed-ahead scaling you can’t believe are really happening, grinding
groovy crunches, “Iron Dog” Dunham’s haunting vocals of uniquely crafted
lyrics with harmony and other vocal backups from guitarist and bassist,
Josh’’s aces and eights driving anchor bass, Shane Walker’s power-house
drumming, and, well, so goes the story, and of these there are many, while rocking-out in the crowd as close to the front
of the stage as this reviewer could venture, the band was playing “Stop
Wasting My Time”, a chic leaned over and yelled, “This is the
music I’ve waited all my life to hear.”
The current success of
the Watson’s entry into the mainstream rock music market with his
classical guitar is in the numbers. 51 weeks straight of AAA radio
charting is record-breaking. And Watson and band have taken advantage of
the impact of a career band’s demands for live shows, promotions, and
merchandising. As Watson says, “It’s not supply and demand. It’s demand
and supply. I think it’s natural for people to demand art as well as
entertainment and I feel really good about the great reception the music
on this album is receiving.”

Final Fridays Rock Fest Hosted by Nashville Recording Artists, Charles
Watson & Hollow
Council Band
Final
Fridays is more than a last Friday of the month celebration at Crabby
Don’s club in Gilbert, Arizona. It’s a bona fied Rock Fest. Charles Watson
& Hollow Council announced today they will be hosting Final Fridays at a
Phoenix valley area bar and grill fully fitted with a professional sound
stage and square footage to accommodate the crowds gathering for an
evening of top rock band line ups.
Apache
Junction, Arizona, December 26, 2009 – There’s no question that the
Phoenix, Arizona valley area is hip to live music venues rivaling Seattle
and Denver in the West as hot-spots for emerging musicians and attracting
recording artists of renown longevity; and it’s not just the great
year-round weather that makes Phoenix an attractive place for musicians.
Music abounds from every neighborhood garage to a plethora of bars,
nightclubs, restaurants, art galleries, wine and cheese bars, performing
arts centers, museum events, street fairs, ongoing festivals and benefits,
city grassy knoll arenas, red brick and fountain plazas, and every venue
possible that can boast live music in situ.
Expensing
a state-of-the-art sound stage with knowledgeable sound techs on-board and
plenty of space to rock their crowds, might say Crabby Don’s in Gilbert is
no exception, but for the fact that they have topped the charts with Final
Fridays hosted by Charles Watson & Hollow Council. The last Friday of each month, at this
bar and grill, has become a venue for concert style lineups hosted and
organized by the hottest Platinum Plus Records, Nashville rock band out of
Arizona with a chart record-breaking album Time For Change.
“Iron
Dog” Dunham is front man on the mic, a seasoned theatrical and Indy film
actor as well as Charles Watson & Hollow Council’s vocalist, and is right at home with his
antics and audience friendly mingling. Could tag him a stand-up comedian
but for the fact that he isn’t routine at all and every time he’s on stage
you’re going to get contemporaneous flack and mind bending quips on the
fly. In all, Iron Dog runs the show and is instrumental in booking the
lineups.
This Rock Fest concept isn’t limited to full
bands, either, and solo artists, duets, trios, and all those who qualify
as having crowd pleasing, entertainment-worthy good material are welcome
to join Charles Watson & Hollow Council on stage.
Crabby
Don’s in Gilbert has two full bars back-to back with a billiards room and
is sports-bar equipped for ongoing sporting events on-screen, and services
a wrap-around outdoors patio for bar and grill menus. They are located at
the East end of the shopping complex in the South East corner of Baseline
and Val Vista Roads, just South off the Val Vista exit of the Superstition
Freeway, US 60. Final Fridays Rock Fest runs from 8 PM to 2 AM featuring
and hosted by Charles Watson & Hollow Council performances with guest bands.
This superlative addition to catch the best live music around, begins

Time For Change Album by Charles Watson & Hollow Council Band on
Platinum Plus Records, Nashville Charts 43 Weeks on AAA Radio
Still
number one. Charles Watson & Hollow Council album Time For Change on
Platinum Plus Records, Nashville has stayed on the AAA radio charts for 43
weeks, announced by the label's executive producer, Robert Metzgar, today.
Apache
Junction, Arizona, November 5, 2008 – When news comes straight from the
desk of the Holy Grail incarnate Guru of the music industry, you'd better
believe something important is happening. Classical guitarist,
Charles E. Watson, Jr. found his mentor in Nashville when he said he
wanted to blow-out the mainstream rock genre with his new brand of guitar
playing and alternative rock band, Charles Watson & Hollow Council. Legends Hall of Fame
Producer, along with a plethora of just as impressive and significant
inductions and titles earned, Robert Metzgar, didn't blink. And that was
just the beginning.
The resulting
album, Time For Change, with two of its tunes "Stop Wasting My Time" and
"Empty Man", have rocked the AAA charts to record-breaking heights with 43
weeks of play. According to the buzz on such things, there are three main
elements to pay attention to in today's music market. One is the live
performances of the artist(s). Two is the promotions of the same. Three is
AAA radio play. It looks like Charles Watson & Hollow Council has hit the
jack pot: they're three for three and still going strong.
"Stop Wasting My
Time", with lyrics written by M. E. Kibler and music by Charles Watson and
Chris Dunham. Kibler says the song is a relationship themed metaphor. The music and vocal delivery are
impassioned to both extremes of melodic soulfulness and a hard edge.
"Empty Man", lyrics
by Watson and Dunham and music by Charles Watson, is a fantastic mix of
country rock and blues, again, with the signature hard edge and a uniquely
enticing theme riff by Watson, matched by the bass line, and a clever beat
that draws you into the lyric hook of Empty Man, a curious
characterization of a sociopath with a deadly profession.

Charles Watson & Hollow Council Book Sturgis 2008 Rally in SD, One of the

"It took me 5 years before I could get

Council had just snagged one of the most enviable gigs in the world.
August 2 through 8, 2008, when Charles Watson & Hollow Council will be
playing in Sturgis, SD, is 11 days before Watson's album "Time For Change",
is even released.
Apache
Junction, Arizona, August 2, 2008 – Charles Watson and band, Charles
Watson & Hollow
Council, are ecstatic. They are also in South Dakota playing on stage at
the Sturgis 2008 Rally, one of the largest
venues in the world. "It was kind of a last minute thing," says Watson,
"We were going, then we weren't, then we were, then we weren't, and had
just about resigned that something as big as Sturgis wasn't going to
happen quite yet." Then the confirmation came with a phone call and they

Platinum Plus
Universal Records “Time
For Change” Album Beats 2008 Presidential Candidates to the Slogan Punch
“Time For Change”, a song off Platinum Plus Records, Nashville,
new recording artist's album, Time For Change, says it all for this
Presidential election cycle's theme. Everybody wants to claim "they" are
the agent of change. But Charles Watson, Arizona classical guitarist, beat
them all to the punch and is this Happy New Year’s Day record-breaking news.
Apache
Junction, Arizona, January 1, 2008 – Last September 2007, the first US
Presidential nominee ad to run with the 'agent of change' theme was from the
Hillary Clinton camp launching advertisements in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Since then, everyone in the race has followed suit trying to come up with a
different way to say that 'they' are the one to initiate 'change'. A year
ago, that was January 1, 2007 to be exact, Charles Watson, Arizona classical
guitarist with a brand new recording contract with Platinum Plus Records, was in Nashville, TN for his first recording session and had already
announced the title of his new album would be Time For Change and had
begun composing his title song, "Time For Change".
Maybe that was
prophetic of Watson. Maybe he was way ahead of the wave in knowing what the
year 2007 would usher in, and, better yet, what was necessary in so many
ways and for so many reasons. Charles Watson was all about doing something
new in the world of rock music, bringing the classical guitar into a genre
where no one had ever ventured, to showcase new techniques and direction for
new sounds and ideas. Time For Change is an extreme instrumental of

Arizona Classical Guitarist Brands Alternative Rock Band Trade Name: Charles
Watson & Hollow Council
Sorry Shakespeare. A
rose by any other name is something else. Name recognition is everything,
especially in the era of the www. Arizona classical guitarist, Charles E.
Watson, Jr, has declared a dba Recording Artist band name for his
Alternative Rock “Time For Change” album project with Platinum Plus
Records, Nashville: Charles Watson & Hollow Council.
Apache Junction,
Arizona, June 21, 2007 - Punch in some letters of the alphabet, any
alphabet, put in some spaces here 'n there, use a symbol or number or few, enter
search, and you've got hundreds of thousands of results showing up, retrieved
from the largest information archives in the world, the World Wide Web. Charles
Watson, Arizona classical guitarist, has a big chunk of relevant and top ranking
search results establish since going online in 2000. Charles Watson & Hollow
Council are online on myspace and a commercial site,
www.charleswatsonhollowcouncil.com, and the words are showing up all over the
web.
"Josh Cummings, our bass
player, was the finishing touch," says Watson.
Cummings, a multi-talented
musician, friend and associate of Watson's, was otherwise committed in a world
music hand drum troupe playing Renaissance Festivals around the country.
Cummings joined up with Watson, Dunham, and Johnson in the Spring of 07 and will
be traveling to Nashville for the third and last recording session for the album
next month. He also will be recording back up vocals and hand drums.
Jesse Johnson was all about calling the band "Empty Men".
The first tune Watson wrote for the album, Empty Man, gelled the tenure that
characterizes the style of alternative rock Watson and band are recording in
Nashville.
"Empty Man? The
music is hook punchy, a little country, and a lot rock," M. E. Kibler, owner of
Solidspace Studio where Watson has a work studio in Apache Junction, Arizona,
said in a recent
conversation. "It's a privilege to be privy to what these guys are doing
with their music. Each song has a unique alternative tuning and beat. Jesse is
such a fine drummer. Those two are hand-in-glove and Johnson skillfully takes
the count anywhere Watson wants, and, believe me, Watson does some pretty
complicated techniques rocking out classical guitar ... Charles and Chris
Dunham, the lead singer, work all hours of the night on the lyrics and vocals
... Empty Man? On the surface, that song is about a serial killer for hire. But
really, and knowing Watson, I think, it's a lot about a selected persona
depicting a side of human nature in the absence of empathy. Empty. That might
seem a little dark, but actually it's a lot of fun and cleverly done. The energy
of it feels a lot like 'The Devil Went Down To Georgia'. Yeah. That song's going
to catch some attention." //
Chris Dunham came up with
synonyms for the "empty men" suggestion: "hollow" and "council" ... they all agreed, Charles Watson & Hollow Council
is the way it's going down in history.//

Charles Watson and Band Members in Nashville, TN January 8 Recording “Time For Change” Album
“Time
For Change” album project with Platinum Plus Records, Nashville has a
ground-breaking new sound for the mainstream rock genre charts featuring
the extreme classical guitar work of Arizona’s foremost guitarist, Charles
Watson. After months of preparation and putting together his alternative
rock band, Watson and fellow musicians are scheduled to begin the first
recording session January 8 in Nashville, TN, and is this Happy New Year's
record breaking news.
Apache
Junction, Arizona, January 1, 2007 – Charles E. Watson Jr. decided on the
title for his album during late night hours of working on the music while
talking to a friend about all the changes taking place. “Time For Change,”
Watson says, “Is the title of an instrumental I've been working on since
last summer. I'm going to put it on the album. Making changes, no pun
intended," he chuckles, "applies to each one of us in the band as well as
the overall concept for the album. It’s not just a quip. Seems it’s just
time for change in so many ways. It’s crazy; I think this collection of
songs and music are some of the best I’ve written so far.” Watson and
fellow band members are preparing to leave for Nashville to begin a first
of three recording sessions January 8 at Chelsea Studios.
"This
is the first of three scheduled recording sessions," Watson said, "And,
providing things go as planned, the twelve tunes will be finished the
first week of July. Then there will be a final mix and graphic production
for the CD insert and tray. It's awesome, after all the work I've done in
past years, to be going to Nashville and get to work with the best people
in the business ... the absolute best. It's just incredible. And my fellow
band members have put in a lot of hours to be ready."
Charles E. Watson's
producers and surrounding entourage of people who
will assist in the
project is like the Who'sWho of the music business, including executive
producer, Legends Hall of Fame
Producer Robert Metzgar, the album will be produced by Tony Migliore, with
sound technicians Spike Jones, and Chuck Haines.
Platinum Plus Universal boasts some of the most successful artists in the
music business.
The Charles Watson band
features
a virtuoso team with the classical and electric guitar work of Charles Watson,
innovative
drumming of Jesse Johnson, Charles Watson on an Alembic fretless bass, and the
gritty vocals of Chris Dunham with vocal harmony by Charles Watson.
Time For Change
is a revolutionary and fine-tuned twelve song album of Watson's original
alternative rock music highlighted by sophisticated instrumentation, driving rhythms,
and infectious hooks. The lyric writing team of Charles
Watson and Chris Dunham punctuate these tunes with moving introspection
and, in all, the music on this album will deliver a unique brand of progressive
rock dynamics.
Watson's finger-style guitar
method showcases techniques developed by Watson (aka C. E. Watson among
classical guitarists) along with the electronics, effects, tricks and licks
of a souped-up, State-of-the-Art Godin electric, solid body, nylon string
classical guitar for an astounding new take on the airwaves.

Charles Watson
Band Destined for Making History in Mainstream Rock
The Charles Watson
band, a brand new alternative rock band, is about to begin
recording a debut album with Platinum Plus Records,
Nashville. Charles E. Watson, Jr., classical guitarist from the Phoenix,
Arizona valley area, landed his recording contract to release his next
classical guitar album, but this isn’t going to be just any ordinary
classical guitar album. Watson has put together a unique group of
musicians and vocalist to launch his classical guitar based alternative
rock music and performing band destined to make history in the rock genre
charts.
Apache Junction,
Arizona, October 25, 2006 – Charles E. Watson, Jr, also known among
classical guitarists as C. E. Watson, is all about the classical guitar.
In fact, he’s got a new band and song list for recording an album on
Platinum Plus Records, Nashville in 2007 featuring his classical guitar
work rocked out and electrified. Notably, Watson’s executive producer
is Legends Hall of Fame Producer, Robert Metzgar, who’s all about making
history in the music industry with credits for producing chart-topping
star-power recording artists.
“Everything Metzgar
touches turns to gold” is the buzz and has been for decades, and for good
reason. Now Mr. Metzgar has another history making artist under his wing,
Charles Watson, classical guitarist extraordinaire, with a band of extreme
musicians Watson personally brought together for this album to introduce
Watson’s wild and crazy classical guitar work into mainstream rock.
Watson’s first contact
with Mr. Metzgar was about recording a solo album, his demo album a 2005
classical guitar masterpiece with Watson’s own keyboard and drum work accompaniment.
"For my 'next' classical guitar album, I wanted a top studio and recording
mainly to document my original techniques," Watson said. "I read
Robert Metzgar's survival manual for musicians he has online," and evolved
even bigger plans for showcasing the classical guitar by releasing an album in
a mainstream pop genre with a full rock band. "It wasn't hard to sell the
idea to my producers. Robert Metzgar and Tony Migilorie were all smiles."
This isn’t the way these
things usually happen. Usually, there’s a band first, then there's endless
stage shows honing in the sound and developing their music, and then comes the
recording contract. Charles Watson is adept at impromptu scoring on the
fly, written vocal driven and instrumental work for his bands for a couple
10,000 master hours, and studies, performs, and teaches music, history and
theory, and guitar for a living. Watson says he was confident he could pull this off and
even though he had any number of top-notch and well known musicians
available associated with his label, he was determined to put together a band to launch a new alternative rock concept drawing on the
people with whom he had close connections in Arizona. And that’s just what
he did.
Chris Dunham joined in
as the vocalist, a gritty rock lyricist and vocalist
Watson knew from the early nineties and with whom he had published an
illustrated and eccentric poetry book, “Disordered Reason”. Dunham, who
had been out of the music business for a few years busy building a
successful career in real estate, connected with Watson’s studio to
put out word that he was interested in finding a band to sing with. Watson was auditioning
for the vocalist at the time. Once he and Dunham met for a session, the auditions were
over.
Jesse Johnson came
onboard to play drums, a drummer with whom Watson has worked with for many
years, a Neal Peart, Bob
Dylan, and Grateful Dead fan, and a meticulous creative technician.
Johnson and Watson have a long history together as guitarist and drummer
with numerous recordings as Crossover, New Age Rock, and Occision, Death
Metal, a mix of old school and progressive heavy metal underground band
with an album on Alien Autopsy Records with international sales &
following.
Josh Cummings has been
bassist in Occision since 2005 and Cummings and Watson have another gig
called the Van Gogh Effect, an electric and classical guitar and hand drummer
duo. Josh has intermittently played world music hand drums with drumming
groups and Renaissance musicians for 7 years and is also an accomplished
guitarist. He's onboard for the Alternative rock band and album with
Watson as bassist,, but is otherwise committed for the next few months and
out of state. Until Cummings is able to participate, Watson will write and
record the bass lines for the album.
Charles Watson & band are destined for making history in mainstream
rock. With a collection of musicians and a vocalist of this caliber to
back-up Watson’s extreme guitar work, the concept has become a reality and
the music is solid rock and downright fresh.

Charles Watson, Arizona Classical Guitarist, Lands Recording Contract with
Platinum Plus Records in Nashville
Arizona classical
guitarist, Charles E. Watson, Jr., is making plans with Legends
Hall of Fame Producer Robert Metzgar to record a twelve-tune music album
on Platinum Plus Records, Nashville.
Apache Junction,
Arizona, April 20, 2006 – Charles E. Watson Jr. started a buzz by circulating
his classical guitar private label 2005 album on CD, Path of the Raven,
for his promotional demo. The buzz about this phenomenal guitarist in
Arizona reached the ears of the most beloved Holy Grail incarnate of the
music business, Robert Metzgar, in Nashville.
Watson decided to find
a major studio to record his next classical guitar album and began his
search late Fall 2005. By February 06, he was busy lining things up with
the Legends Hall of Fame Producer who initiated the contact with a simple
message to contact him.
The general public likely knows Mr. Metzgar best from his world famous and
award winning Smoky River Boys “Dueling Banjos” from the movie "Deliverance"
and “O Brother” title song and sound track for the Universal movie “O
Brother, Where Art Thou”.
In
the music industry, Robert Metzgar's credentials include a proliferation
of producing star-power recording artists in Country and Gospel Music and
associated with greats such as Allen Jackson, Mason Williams, Jim Reeves,
Chet Atkins, and Dolly Parton, just to name a very few. Awards discography
of Robert Metzgar include being elected to the Legends Hall Of Fame
(2003). Elected to the Producer's Hall Of Fame (2000). Elected as Cashbox
Magazine's Producer Of The Year (1988-1989-1990-1991-1992). Elected as the
Billboard Independent Producer Of The Year (1993). Smokey River boys win
international acclaim for "O Brother" album (2003). Elected to the Academy
Of International Recording Artists Hall Of Fame (2004). Elected to the
West Texas Music Hall Of Fame - Pioneers Of Bluegrass Section (2005).
Nominated As Texas Producer Of The Year (2005). Produced the Gospel Song
Of The Year for BMI Songwriter Brenda Heffernan (2006). Produced the #1
song in Billboard Magazine's Country Singles Sales Chart for the week of
04/08/2006 entitled "Country's What I Choose," by Len Snow Jr. (2006).
Produced the #11 song in Billboard Magazine's Hot 100 Pop Singles Sales
Charts for the week of 05/29/2006 according to Nielsen Soundscan (2006).
Charles Watson will be
putting together a group of musicians to record this album with him. “I
want to showcase the classical guitar for the incredible instrument that
it is and take it outside the usual genres people associate classical
guitar music with. This album’s music will be alternative rock with a full
band and vocalist. No one has ever done this before but I think people are
going to really connect with what I’m doing.”
Watson has developed a
style of classical guitar finger-style techniques, many of which are of
his own invention and contributory to the field of finger-style technique,
along with utilizing a full gamete of electronic sound processors and
amplification typically used for the electric solid body guitar.
Watson is a child
prodigy in music, beginning his studies at age 8 and a professional
guitarist playing public performances by age 9. He launched his youthful
career with the performing rock band, Crossover, with whom he recorded
three albums, and moved on into hard metal and ultimately death metal,
saying that this underground genre provided no-holds-barred,
envelope-pushing extremes in every conceivable way. His band, Occision,
has been the longest running death metal band in Arizona, one of the
earliest world-wide, with a 7” vinyl and album on compact disk with
international distribution through Alien Autopsy Records in Tempe, AZ.
Charles has also paid
his dues as a music major and studied classical guitar since the
mid-nineties, has composed innumerable works ranging from international
folk dances for FlashPoint dance company, transcriptions of Rachmaninoff
piano works for the guitar, string quartet works, original piano
compositions, midi soundscapes, and, of course, a couple decades worth of
lyric rock songs, outlandish slugfest death, and a plethora of blues,
country, jazz, Spanish and Latin guitar works. He is currently music
instructor at Arizona Music Academy, where he has taught since 2002.
Watson has performed classical guitar at such venues as the Scottsdale
Center for the Performing Arts and
Queen Creek Performing Arts Center, Tempe Town Lakes concert arena,
Scottsdale’s famed Art Walks, a plethora of private and live music club
and benefit venues, and has an extensive discography.
Pushing the envelope is
what Charles Watson is all about. And now, in the company of the heart of
the music industry in Nashville, Watson is busy composing music for his
album on Platinum Plus Records, Nashville and putting together an
alternative rock band to launch his debut major market album release
scheduled for recording during 2007.

BREAKING NEWS :: November 11, 2008 -
RE: Label is on a roll
with delayed single releases since election is over
In a recent
Nashville Loew's Vanderbilt major label manager's meeting, the comment
was made, "In an election year, how can you compete with political
candidates spending over a 100 million a month for the attention of
the media." The answer was, "You can't." Not even the
major labels are willing to risk spending "suicide chart" money during
an election year to compete with the money political candidates
are spending at every level with all forms of media.
Since the election
result ... Time For Change album has been 1 for 45
straight weeks ... and now the single release of Stephanie Williams has
jumped into the Top-150 at Billboard with the hammer down on
that and other releases that we delayed because of the political
season. Not even the majors are crazy enough to pour promotional
dollars down the drain in an election year. It's simply
impossible to compete with the political parties in an election year
for media coverage.
The charts have
cleared for new releases and signing months are ahead starting January
23rd. // " Robert Metzgar

My comment
here will explain what I saw and felt about the show on Saturday. Maybe
"show" is the wrong noun.... In the words of Larry Mullen Jr., it was a
"spiritual journey" .... a lesson of the reality of life ... to tormented
souls who want to escape and be free of our own plastic icons. This ... needs to be seen by thousands ... in an arena where it belongs in that
Anthrax-church setting ... Stand up
